Summary:

Our client is looking for a VP, Industry Lead candidate with a demonstrated history of growing revenue through strategic solutions for client partners and managing with value-based leadership and coaching for CPG clients and key retailers that partner with CPG companies as a retail media network. This experience should have both client direct and through advertising agencies. This candidate is comfortable leading a team in today’s constantly changing media landscape, and leveraging data for targeting and attribution solutions, content and commercial product options and leveraging the client’s growing scale into mobile, video, digital, broadcast, DOOH solutions and more. This candidate brings a wealth of relationships to key decision makers at large fortune 500 CPG clients.

This person will help shape the organization’s strategy for penetrating the CPG industry with the client’s ability to drive sales for CPG products at C-stores, grocery, and big box. Additionally, this role will work to demonstrate the unique value in driving consumers to retailers. This role will represent the client within the industry to help educate and inform the marketing community of their unique ability to drive business outcomes. The role is focused on initiating engagement and leveraging their broad sales organization around client engagement, showcasing the value proposition, and onboarding new and growing existing partnerships to drive immediate and accelerate revenue growth. This role will have direct contact and ownership of key decision makers across the industry’s largest CPG and Retail marketers.

Responsibilities:

  • Evangelize the client’s go-to-market strategy for CPG partners and with key retailers.
  • Develop and lead prospecting strategies that drive new client meetings and relationship growth. Execute weekly direct contact meetings with focus accounts and maintain and grow deep relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Personally, develop executive level client relationships, and lead strategic direction and conversations with key focus brands and agencies to help support your team’s sales efforts.
  • Drive seven figure partnerships and content partnership opportunities.
  • Properly manage your sales pipeline and activities via Salesforce and other tools to ensure a credible and accurate forecast.
  • Drive aggressive revenue targets across multiple revenue opportunities.
  • Assist with sales operations, internal sales processes and marketing efforts to support sellers nationally drive sales in CPG category.
  • Create solutions for customers leveraging in-depth understanding of the national advertising, digital video and data-driven audience targeting and attribution marketplace.
  • Cultivate relationships with partners, optimize their performance and identify additional business opportunities to expand partnership revenues.
  • Provide regular updates to the leadership team including pipeline, revenue, and business growth.

Requirements:

  • A track record of growing sales revenue with major brands and agencies and closing seven figure deals within the CPG or Retail categories.
  • Understand and drive solution selling – previous experience introducing new products to market and leveraging video, content, data, mobile and DOOH solutions also valuable.
  • Understand agency, advertiser, and publisher landscape, and experience building broad coalitions of influencers and decision-makers to drive revenue growth and client retention.
  • Ability to lead and drive account planning processes to ensure 360-degree sales efforts across all decision-making groups of a brand – planning, buying, creative, client direct, etc.
  • Ability to access and present with immediate credibility to senior agency teams, C-level brand executives and industry peers.
  • Proven ability to manage against clear and deliverable goals – demonstrates tenacity, commitment to deliver and be accountable for results.
  • Strong organizational/time management skills and be detailed oriented.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with key partners in sales planning, marketing and insights to scope and prioritize opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including delivering effective presentations.
  • Be a self-starter with a diligent work ethic and demonstrated flexibility.
  • Passion for, and deep understanding of digital media/video monetization products and trends, audience data and solutions-based approach.
  • Impressive ability to negotiate deals, think strategically, and understand complex client campaigns.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Existing, current relationships with decision-makers at national brands, advertising agencies and advertising technology companies.
  • Exceptional business acumen and insightful understanding of industry trends & revenue drivers.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and an ability to organize, prioritize, and clarify deliverables.
  • Dynamic presence, stellar written and presentation skills, and excellent communication and influencing abilities across multiple levels.
  • 10+ years media industry experience including 5+ years of senior management roles overseeing teams of 8 or more sellers.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading U.S. or International University and/or equivalent years of experience.
