Your New Role
The Senior Development Manager role is an entrepreneurial position, focused on overseeing and executing all phases of development projects. This includes managing the end-to-end process for commercial and mixed-use residential developments, from acquisition and site selection to market research, financial analysis, design, permitting, and construction. The Senior Development Manager will be responsible for assembling and leading project teams while coordinating with external sales, marketing, and branding partners. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with internal construction teams to ensure project delivery meets budget, timeline, and quality expectations.
This position requires a dynamic leader who excels in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple complex projects at once. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, exceptional communication, and a solid grasp of real estate finance, with comprehensive knowledge of the development process and a passion for creating great places. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, this role provides significant career growth opportunities, with potential to progress into senior leadership roles such as Director or VP of Development.
What Sets You Apart
The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in Architecture, Planning, Commerce, or a related field, along with over five years of relevant experience in development and construction, including a leadership role. A deep understanding of multi-family residential, industrial, and commercial development is essential. Additionally, proficiency in municipal zoning bylaws, the BC Building Code, and the Vancouver Building Bylaw (VBBL) is required. This combination of technical knowledge, leadership experience, and industry expertise will set candidates apart in effectively managing complex projects from start to finish.
