Your New Role

In your role as Commercial Building Operator, you will contribute meaningfully to the operations team by assisting with the procurement of supplies and services for the smooth operation and maintenance of the properties, including HVAC, maintenance, and inventory control. You’ll ensure building systems and physical assets are well-maintained, following building operating procedures and recommending improvements where needed.

You will support the commercial operations team by conducting construction inspections for both tenant and landlord work, reporting your findings, and assisting with regular property inspections. Additionally, you will enforce the company’s environmental and insurance programs and actively participate in the Life Safety Emergency Plan. Ensuring compliance with building and fire codes, safety regulations, and WHMIS is crucial, and you will be responsible for providing written inspection reports on mechanical equipment.

What Sets You Apart

The ideal candidate will have a MINIMUM of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate operations, with a preference for those holding a Building Environmental Systems Diploma (I and II), a 4th Class Engineering Certificate, or equivalent industry certifications.

The ability and 5 years of experience in diagnosing building equipment is essential.

Experience with Building Automation Systems and pneumatic controls is essential. Strong communication skills are a must, as the role requires interaction with management at all levels.

In addition, candidates will possess excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail. You are motivated and ready to take charge of situations and have a mature and professional manner.
