Our client is a highly respected investment and real estate company dedicated to the principles of excellence, long-term relationships, and the creation of a sense of place and pride in their region. They are seeking a District Property Manager for their flagship property Queen’s Marque in Halifax.

You will ensure tenant concerns are rectified in a prompt, effective and cost-efficient manner. Responsibilities will include the supervision of building staff, including operators, cleaning and maintenance staff, and property management staff; frequent contact with, and direct supervision of staff, is required.

Your success will depend on your ability to foster positive working relationships with tenants, staff, and contractors, while also encouraging enhanced service and performance.
The position requires a proven track record in evaluating financial statements for designated properties, conducting thorough analysis, and reporting on budget variances. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating the annual property budget. You will also review the tendering and negotiating of building service contracts to ensure prudent, cost-effective practices

Your New Role

Reporting to the VP, Real Estate Management, the District Property Manager will manage the day-to-day management of a growing portfolio of residential, commercial, and retail assets in the Queen’s Marque District in downtown Halifax.

You will ensure tenant concerns are rectified in a prompt, effective and cost-efficient manner. What Sets You Apart

This role will suit an experienced Property Manager with 10+ years’ in the residential, retail, and commercial real estate sectors. Additionally, you bring 5+ years in a leadership position with a post-secondary degree or technical diploma in a related field. Experience in the hotel industry or in the management of luxury residential properties is considered an asset.

You have the ability to effectively lead and coach a small team and to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Having excellent relationship building skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders and being proficient and knowledgeable with different property management processes and procedures is vital.
