As they continue to grow, PenEquity is seeking a dynamic Manager, Accounting to join their team and contribute to their strategic initiatives.

Your New Role

As the Manager, Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing property, development, and corporate accounting functions, while also driving key process improvements. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you’ll manage a small team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with various departments such as Development, Construction, and Leasing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing the full cycle of property accounting (60%), preparing financial statements, overseeing tax filings, and supporting budgeting and financial reporting. You’ll also handle development accounting tasks (25%), such as preparing reports and managing capital activities, and contribute to corporate accounting and strategic initiatives (15%). This role offers the opportunity to mentor your team and take on leadership responsibilities while helping PenEquity achieve its long-term goals.

What Sets You Apart

You hold a CPA designation along with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. With at least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate or public accounting, you bring strong expertise in development accounting and commercial property accounting. You are proficient in using Yardi accounting software and have advanced skills in financial reporting and budgeting. In addition to your technical skills, you possess strong leadership and mentorship abilities, having managed a small team in previous roles. Your excellent relationship management and communication skills allow you to effectively collaborate with internal teams, tenants, and investors. You are highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and bring a proactive approach to problem-solving. Furthermore, you’re adaptable, willing to work outside of core hours when necessary, and thrive in dynamic work settings.
