As Chief Engineer, you will ensure the optimal performance of building systems and create a top-tier tenant experience through effective property management and maintenance practices.
Your New Role
As the Chief Engineer, you will handle both the day-to-day operations and strategic oversight of all engineering and maintenance processes. Working closely with the Director of Properties, you’ll ensure seamless operations, lead energy conservation initiatives, and develop the service and maintenance department. Full compliance with safety regulations will be your responsibility, ensuring the properties are always safe, functional, and up to code.
One of the major tasks will be coordinating the occupation and operation of new residential and commercial buildings, making sure all operational needs are met for a smooth transition.
You will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of crucial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire alarms. Ensuring these systems are fully functional and meet all safety standards will be a critical aspect of your role.
What Sets You Apart
To excel in this role, you should have over five years of experience in building operations and maintenance, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to enhance property performance and tenant satisfaction.
Strong administrative skills, particularly in using Excel, Yardi, and Office, are essential. Your expertise in these platforms will enable you to implement new processes and efficiently manage the administrative side of operations.
Leadership experience is a must. You will be responsible for training and mentoring a team of Building Operators, guiding them toward operational excellence. Strong communication skills are also crucial, as you will be expected to build strong relationships with tenants, partners, and your team.
You should have a hands-on approach, staying actively involved in the field while also effectively managing administrative duties. Striking a balance between both will be key to your success in this role.
What You Can Expect
This project offers a remarkable opportunity to work at the forefront of property management and engineering. You will gain valuable hands-on experience in both operations and leadership, shaping the future of a major urban development.
By collaborating with a talented team, you’ll help implement innovative processes, tackle unique challenges, and contribute to the success of a high-profile project. The scale and impact of this endeavor will make your experience both rewarding and exciting, as you leave a lasting mark on a transformative development.
