At its head office in Markham, Ontario, our client has a professional in-house management team that oversees its portfolio of industrial, retail and office properties, commercial and residential land under development, as well as new acquisitions.

Your New Role

As the Senior Property Manager, you'll hold a crucial position in optimizing the value and efficacy of our client's varied industrial real estate holdings. This leadership role requires a unique fusion of strategic acumen, top-tier customer service, and collaborative teamwork.

Your responsibilities will encompass the management of relationships with both third-party tenants and those within their sister companies, ensuring that the facilities and services they offer enable their teams to concentrate on the primary objectives. Through your hands-on approach, you'll be entrusted with a multifaceted set of responsibilities aimed at optimizing the performance of an industrial property portfolio. Your accountability spans various domains, including maximizing occupancy rates, rental income, and property value through strategic planning and proactive management.

Cultivating strong tenant relationships is paramount, as you'll work to build trust and foster positive engagement with both third-party and sister company tenants, promptly addressing their needs with professionalism.

Financial stewardship is another key aspect of your role, where you'll drive efficient management practices encompassing forecasting, budgeting, and stringent cost control measures.

Operational excellence is non-negotiable, as you'll ensure the seamless daily operations of the portfolio while upholding regulatory compliance and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Through collaborative leadership, you'll guide and empower your team of property management professionals, creating a supportive and high-performing environment conducive to achieving their strategic objectives.

 What Sets You Apart

You have a minimum of seven years of experience in commercial real estate, spanning property management, operations, maintenance, property accounting, and leasing, which is required for this role.

Alongside this, strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital, with a demonstrated ability to forge and maintain relationships effectively. You will exhibit resilience, passion, and a steadfast commitment to delivering results in a timely manner while being accountable for their outcomes.

Proficiency in accounting, budgeting, and familiarity with building systems is essential, as is the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.

Possession of designations such as CPM, RPA, or FMA would be advantageous. Knowledge of Yardi is indispensable, with proficiency in other property management technologies considered an asset.

Additionally, adeptness with typical office technology, including Microsoft Office applications, is required, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to communicate quantitative and qualitative information effectively.
