Your New Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to oversee our client’s GTA suburban building portfolio. As an You will be responsible for ensuring their industrial, retail and commercial buildings are presented and operated according to the best possible standards alongside the property manager.

To be successful, your vision should not only be focused on the day-to-day operations of the properties but also the long-term potential and profitability of the portfolio.

They will count on you to establish and maintain strong relationships with tenants, staff and contractors to ensure satisfaction by all. You will also assist with the implementation of new programs, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

You will be accountable to the property managers and report to the Senior Property Manager.

What Sets You Apart

You will bring comprehensive knowledge of building systems and operations with extensive experience managing preventive maintenance programs (e.g., Angus Preventive Maintenance) with a minimum of 5+ years of industrial/retail/ commercial suburban building operations experience.

A post-secondary education in engineering, building sciences, BOMI designations (SMA/SMT and/or trades training (BES Class 1 and 2) and a designation in facility management or project management would be an asset.

You have a proven track record of handling complex operations systems, including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensuring code compliance and sustainability.

A demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams effectively, including scheduling, performance reviews, and troubleshooting operational issues coupled with strong experience in motivating and fostering collaboration within operations teams to maintain high performance and accountability will be key.

You possess exceptional communication skills to liaise with tenants regularly, ensuring satisfaction and quickly addressing concerns while delivering outstanding tenant service and maintaining strong, positive relationships.

You are a strategic thinker with experience designing and implementing long-term sustainable strategies aligned with corporate goals and a history of incorporating energy-efficient solutions and sustainable practices in building operations.

Lastly, you build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including tenants, team members, and management along with exceptional organizational and reporting skills to keep management well-informed.
