Your New Role

The Building Operator reports to Manager, Technical Services and will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the buildings including general maintenance, maintaining mechanical systems and fostering positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and sub-contractors.

Focusing on providing excellent tenant services, emphasizing a cooperative, helpful, and non-disruptive approach in all interactions, and responding to tenant inquiries in a timely manner will be paramount.

You will ensure efficient and effective building operations and monitor, as assigned by your supervisor, scheduled maintenance, and related services. This includes interior/exterior maintenance and cleaning services, HVAC systems, and life safety systems. This is to ensure the appropriate level of service is provided at the property.

Promoting environmental sustainability in building operations by supporting best practices to reduce energy consumption is key. In addition, assisting with BOMA BEST submissions, LEED projects and other green management practices will demonstrate effective corporate stewardship.

What Sets You Apart

You are a high school graduate with a BES I/II or other equivalent technical designation. You will bring 3+ years’ experience in the property management sector and operating knowledge of workplace tools such as building automation systems, preventative maintenance, security, HVAC operations and life safety systems, hazardous materials handling, plumbing fixtures, door hardware, and electrical systems.

You have a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of building systems and equipment. In addition, you have excellent customer relations skills and knowledge of construction practices/techniques.
