Your New Role
We are looking for an accomplished Operations Manager to oversee a prestigious portfolio of properties located in Vaughan. This extensive portfolio spans over 7 million square feet and includes a diverse range of mixed-use buildings, featuring industrial, commercial, and retail assets. Your expertise in industrial property operations will be crucial as you lead the operations and maintenance programs, ensuring the highest standards of building performance and tenant satisfaction.
In this role, you will work in close partnership with our construction teams to successfully deliver major property management projects, optimizing the use of resources and ensuring timely completion. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be tasked with driving operational excellence by identifying and implementing strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall service delivery.
A key aspect of your role will be to foster strong tenant relationships, ensuring their needs are met proactively and effectively. Your leadership will be central to creating a collaborative environment where best practices are shared, and innovative solutions are encouraged. With your commitment to excellence, you will help maintain the portfolio’s reputation as a leader in the industry, delivering "best in class" service and supporting the long-term success of the properties under your management.
What Sets You Apart
With over 10 years of experience in building operations and capital project management, ideally within dynamic industrial and mixed-use environments, you bring a wealth of knowledge in systems such as building automation, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Fire Alarm, and Life Safety.
You possess a strong understanding of building construction, with the ability to interpret building specifications and drawings, coupled with a deep knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, including national and industry codes like WHMIS.
Your experience in automation and project management allows you to handle multiple projects efficiently, while your post-secondary education in a relevant field such as electrical, mechanical, or building environmental science adds further credibility to your expertise.
Your leadership experience, particularly in supervising operations teams for at least 3-5 years, highlights your ability to guide and inspire teams. In a rapidly evolving landscape, your willingness to learn and adapt ensures you stay ahead, developing strategies that future-proof each asset. You are a technology champion, leveraging available tools to automate and enhance operational efficiencies.
Your well-developed communication and presentation skills enable you to effectively collaborate with tenants, external contractors, internal teams, and other stakeholders. No two days are the same for you, and your high motivation to tackle challenges head-on makes you an invaluable problem-solver.
