Your new employer is a well-established leader in the real estate industry, known for its commitment to innovation, growth, and employee development. They offer a dynamic work environment where employees are encouraged to collaborate, share ideas, and take on new challenges.

Your New Role

As the Pension and Benefits Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution of pensions, benefits, and leave-related activities.

You will ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements, while continuously identifying trends and suggesting necessary updates and improvements to pension and benefits plans.

In addition, you will apply employee communication strategies, to provide up-to-date content for benefits-related materials. Your role will also involve vendor relationship oversight, ensuring that any issues are identified, escalated, and resolved efficiently.

A key aspect of this role includes interpreting and applying pension, benefits, and leave policies to ensure alignment with company procedures and provincial regulations, while also promoting cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

You will oversee employee leave requests, including those for disability, parental, and personal leaves, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.

What Sets You Apart

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who will leverage experience with various processes and automation tools to propose strategies that streamline operations and enhance accuracy, that drive operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Experience working with both Defined Contribution (DC) and Defined Benefit (DB) plans is required. A solid understanding of compliance regulations related to these plans is essential to ensure all pension-related activities meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, relationship-building is a key aspect of the role. The candidate must be able to build, trust and maintain strong relationships with both employees and managers.

While you will represent the company’s policies, you won’t be directly involved in adjudicating claims. Instead, your focus will be on fostering positive working relationships and ensuring clear communication regarding benefits and leave policies.
