Your New Employer
Our client is seeking a skilled Project Manager, Construction to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will ensure efficient and effective capital project operations, playing a key role in the planning, execution, and closeout of various projects across their managed properties.
Your New Role
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and budget updates, as well as reviewing design, tender, IFC, and approved building permit drawings. You will manage the entire project lifecycle—from design and permit acquisition to construction and final closeout.
This includes overseeing major tenant buildouts and leasehold improvements, and guiding operations managers and supervisors in the planning and execution of major capital projects, such as upgrades and reconstructions.
You will also collaborate with managers in bid reviews and pre-construction conferences, and maintain strong working relationships with local, regional, and national agencies, vendors, and contractors.
In addition to project management, you will coordinate external contractors and service providers, directing their work on-site and maintaining a list of preferred contractors and consultants.
Delivering excellent service to tenants is a key priority, so you will establish and maintain professional relationships with property management teams, tenants, contractors, and consultants.
What Sets You Apart
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in engineering, architecture, construction, or project management, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction, project management, or a related field.
A strong background in building design and construction is essential, with demonstrated expertise in estimating, contracts, construction processes, and the management of commercial projects. Additionally, the candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of zoning regulations, building codes, environmental codes, and the processes associated with building permits, inspections, and documentation.
Experience with Yardi Construction Manager would be an asset.
You will also play a role in promoting environmental sustainability in building operations and construction, assisting in the development and maintenance of sustainability and energy management policies and programs, including LEED and BOMA Best strategies.
