Assistant Property Manager

HighView Partners Inc - Toronto, ON, Canada

Our client is focused on the acquisition, growth and management of industrial properties across key markets in Canada. Join them as Assistant Property/Facility Manager.

Your New Employer

Originally recognized as an owner and operator of parking facilities in North America, our client has shifted its focus to the industrial sector and is continually expanding its portfolio.

Your New Role

As the Assistant Property/Facility Manager, you will be responsible for property management, operations, budget management, project management, tenant relationship management, health and safety, and emergency preparedness and business continuity for an assigned industrial portfolio.

This is a hybrid role and is based in the GTA and surrounding area. You will assist and report to the Senior Property Manager, overseeing a portfolio of 10-20 industrial properties. Occasional travel for on-site visits will be required.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations, you will collaborate closely with property managers, tenants, management, and vendors to oversee maintenance and repair activities and performance of internal and external technicians, with a focus on environmental, health, safety and security teams. Ensuring continuous compliance with all health and safety-related legislation and requirements falls under your oversight.

Further responsibilities include assisting in budget creation and monitoring performance against budgets, including expense review, and managing relevant documentation, such as annual facility inspections, equipment data, and project files, within service maintenance databases.

The successful candidate demonstrating these abilities will be promoted to Property Manager.

What Sets You Apart

The ideal candidate possesses 2-4 years of previous experience in facility operations and maintenance management, proficiency with facility equipment and building systems and the ability to demonstrate strong service delivery management capabilities. Additionally, you will have expertise in budget management and project management. Well-developed communication, influence and negotiation skills, along with the ability to manage client relationships and lead teams effectively will lead to your success.
