Your New Role
As Operations Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of a prominent property. Reporting to the Manager, Operations or Building Manager, you will ensure that building systems function efficiently, tenant needs are addressed promptly, and safety protocols are strictly adhered to. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving operational efficiencies and supporting tenant retention through high-quality service delivery.
In this position, you will manage key building systems, including HVAC, fire safety, and security, ensuring all maintenance programs align with company policies and standards. You will also respond to tenant service requests, providing timely and effective solutions that build trust and strengthen relationships. Additionally, your role will include coordinating project-related activities with property management, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties to the highest standard.
Key responsibilities will include overseeing maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies, managing contract tendering processes, and contributing to budgeting and financial planning activities. You will be responsible for fostering a collaborative team environment, providing on-the-job training, and promoting a productive and efficient workplace culture.
What Sets You Apart
You bring at least five years of experience in building operations, supported by a BES I and II, and/or a trade certificate or certification in a core building system such as HVAC or boilers. Your technical expertise in building automation and operating systems is complemented by exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Your ability to build strong tenant relationships and lead cross-functional teams makes you an invaluable asset. You are highly adaptable and excel at finding innovative solutions to operational challenges. Experience with WHMIS requirements and HVAC systems, along with proficiency in MS Office and operations-specific software, will further enhance your success in this role. A valid driver’s license is also considered an asset.
