Committed to sustainability and innovation, they have ambitious environmental goals and are looking for a forward-thinking Director of sustainability to drive their vision forward.
Your New Role
As the Director, Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the company’s sustainability strategy, working towards key environmental targets such as net-zero emissions by 2050. You will be in charge of embedding sustainable practices into existing and future developments, ensuring environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles are a core part of the business. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team and collaborating closely with senior leadership to ensure sustainability efforts align with broader corporate objectives. In this role, you will also be a key advocate for the company's sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally. Your leadership will be crucial in building bridges across diverse teams and ensuring the successful implementation of green building designs, sustainability reporting, and innovative climate initiatives. The scope of this position is vast and covers collaboration with external stakeholders such as policymakers and industry groups, as well as internal teams across operations, development, and marketing.
What Sets You Apart
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leadership in sustainability, ESG, or corporate social responsibility, preferably within the real estate or building sectors. With at least 10 years of experience in sustainability roles, you are skilled at driving complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and are passionate about implementing initiatives that drive real environmental impact. Your ability to balance technical expertise with clear, compelling communication will be key to success in this role. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as sustainability, business, or operations, and are highly knowledgeable about green building practices, building codes, and sustainability reporting frameworks. You are a proactive leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of fostering both internal team cohesion and external partnerships.
