We are seeking a Payroll Specialist / Clerk to join our work family and support our team.

Payroll Specialist / Clerk - Job Duties:

As our Payroll Clerk/ Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting our payroll department by processing weekly payroll for one of our entities, as well as interfacing with the field team for payroll related questions and problem-solving.  

  • Process weekly in-house payroll for one of the Charge companies (between 100-300 employees) including following up to ensure all timesheets are received, input and review of payroll, printing payroll checks, reconciliations, processing payroll tax and 401k payments and preparing related payroll reports.
  • Answer any questions from the team about payroll related items and timecards.
  • Monitor and maintain system-generated accruals for vacation and sick time to ensure accuracy.

A successful Payroll Clerk / Payroll Specialist in this role is someone social with a passion for helping others who can independently problem solve, consistently meets timelines and delivers quality payroll reporting who is excited to learn and continue to grow as a professional.

Payroll Specialist / Clerk Required Skills, Experience & Character:

  • Prior experience processing payroll in-house
  • Self-sufficient, persistent and strong follow-up skills – you will need to meet tight deadlines and manage many moving parts!
  • Enjoys providing customer service and friendly to work with both field personnel and in-office team
  • Desire for a long-term role with the company

Payroll Specialist / Clerk  Desired, Not Required:

  • Prior experience working in a construction company environment
  • Experience processing union payroll and union payroll reporting
  • Experience with prevailing wage payroll
  • Ability to navigate Excel spreadsheets
  • Bilingual, Spanish
  • Experience working with Foundation accounting software
  • Experience working with HCSS construction software
