Desktop Support Technician

We are recruiting a Desktop Support Technician on behalf of our client, a nationwide distribution company headquartered in Chicago, IL. The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for assisting with troubleshooting issues, providing general IT support, and hardware/software updates for the corporate office and distribution centers.The ideal candidate will have formal IT training and CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent, along with solid experience with Helpdesk environments and software.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and troubleshooting PC’s and printers
  • Perform PC and printer maintenance in office and warehouse environments
  • Copy, move, secure user data
  • Perform hardware/software updates
  • Perform documentation of work performed to contribute to knowledge base
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize needs.
  • Maintain users in Active Directory
  • Setup and deploy scanners, tablets, VoIP phones
  • Deploy devices in a warehouse environment
  • Experience with Helpdesk environments and software
  • Routinely work with Remote Desktop and virtual environments
  • Support in house software including O365
  

Requirements

  • 2+ years of IT experience is required
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent
  • A high degree of competency in Microsoft Office products, experience with O365 is a huge plus.
  • Formal IT training – Trade school or BS in Computer Science is preferred
  • Networking experience is required
  • Self-Directed, capable of working independently
  • Great attitude and team player
  • High attention to detail yet able to work quickly
  • Able to routinely lift 50 lbs and work on your feet daily
