  • Monday-Thursday 7:45 am - 5:45 pm. Fridays & Saturdays as needed. Travel as needed.

Responsibilities of the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant role include:

  • Provide patient and parent/guardian homecare instructions.
  • Follow all guidelines, protocols, and policies with documentation for patient’s records (i.e. placing notes, charting, alerts)
  • Restock instruments and supplies throughout the office as necessary to maintain efficient work environment
  • Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying when there is a need for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories.
  • Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns
  • Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area; position instruments for dentist's access; suction; pass instruments using four-handed dentistry.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Successful candidates for the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant:
  • Current licensure as an EFDA in the state of Pennsylvania
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Radiology certification
  • CPR certification

 

 

As an EFDA, you'll have the chance to showcase your expanded skills and knowledge, assisting our dentist in a variety of procedures, including restorations, extractions, and root canals. You'll take and develop dental X-rays, manage patient records, and provide education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
