We have an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant opportunity available near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania!

- Shift:
- Monday-Thursday 7:45 am - 5:45 pm. Fridays & Saturdays as needed. Travel as needed.

- Just Outside of Hershey, PA (17112)
Responsibilities of the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant role include:
- Provide patient and parent/guardian homecare instructions.
- Follow all guidelines, protocols, and policies with documentation for patient’s records (i.e. placing notes, charting, alerts)
- Restock instruments and supplies throughout the office as necessary to maintain efficient work environment
- Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying when there is a need for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories.
- Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns
- Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area; position instruments for dentist's access; suction; pass instruments using four-handed dentistry.
Job Requirements:
- Successful candidates for the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant:
- Current licensure as an EFDA in the state of Pennsylvania
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Radiology certification
- CPR certification
As an EFDA, you'll have the chance to showcase your expanded skills and knowledge, assisting our dentist in a variety of procedures, including restorations, extractions, and root canals. You'll take and develop dental X-rays, manage patient records, and provide education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
