Accounts Receivables Specialist / Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Receive, code and apply payments by check, wire, ACH and credit card to dealer and customer accounts within 24 hours of receipt. If research is required to resolve payment discrepancies, complete it and apply payments within 48 hours of receipt. Works closely with order entry personnel in Data: Operations.

  • Along with support from Sales and Dealer Services, process and report on outstanding customer balances.

  • Initiate and research collection on outstanding/aged accounts. Collect payments by the due date or as soon as possible thereafter by applying the company’s collection policy.

  • Process adjustments to customer accounts via credit memos and refunds within 24 hours of receipt.

  • Review customer payment history and report non-compliance with terms to the Sr. Manager.

  • Provide a report of DSO and other AR metrics, past due accounts and action items to Sr. Manager weekly.

  • Completes assigned month-end tasks for closing books and preparing financial reports.

  • Assists with A/P and provides backup as required.

  • Maintain or create procedure documentation in the form of SOPs.

  • Resolve issues relating to sales tax and ensure exemption certificates are current.

  • Comfortable with redundant work with some variety.

  • Exhibits and applies problem solving skills to address issues as they arise.

  • Ability to meet quarterly and annual goals.

  • Ability to analyze and report on areas of responsibility to provide actionable information to management.

  • Willing to take on new tasks and improve efficiency of existing processes to enable company growth.

  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Must be able to multitask in a fast paced work environment.

  • Experience with NetSuite, highly desirable but not required

  • Experience with invoicing via customer portals, highly desirable but not required

  • Associates degree or BS degree in accounting.

  • Minimum of one-two years’ experience in small to midsize business with responsibility for accounts receivable and some general accounting duties.

 

Pay and Benefits:

This position is paid salary, depending on experience $50,000 - $60,000 annually, with bonuses. We offer great benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, Vacation/Holiday Pay, and Simple IRA contribution (with a company match after a waiting period).
