About the Job

The Client Relationship Manager provides day-to-day client care by supporting client needs, providing relevant retirement plan information, responding to client inquiries, and addressing concerns.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds to client requests, inquiries, and concerns by phone or e-mail; provides a high level of client interface.
  • Prepares plan review materials, runs reports and provides all relevant materials to Principal for client meetings; attends meetings as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with conversion team in preparation of new client onboarding.
  • Assists with entering new elections, election changes, address changes, and other census changes.
  • Prepares correspondence to and on behalf of customers via scan, copy, or fax.
  • Reviews daily, incoming and outgoing funds, researches fund transfer requests, and ensures required action is completed.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for work and projects; assists others as needed.
  • Solicits and applies direction, mentoring, and feedback from others; asks questions and acts on feedback and instruction.
  • Provides high-quality deliverables and services with the highest level of client service.
  • Communicates and models the vision and strategy of the Firm.
  • Develops business relationships and partnerships with a client focus.
  • Commits to continuous improvement of quality deliverables and services, identifies best practices, and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Performs other duties and special assignments as assigned.

Required Experience, Education and Skills:

  • Strong face to face client facing customer service experience
  • Associate's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field; or some college preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with the ability to utilize technology tools effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to perform technical research, draw conclusions, and apply solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret plan documents
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop and solidify working relationships with clients and team members
  • Ability to perform analytical and review functions to ensure quality of deliverables and services
  • Good judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Intermediate mathematical skills, with the ability to perform moderately difficult math functions
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to communicate with others, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively and in a way that is easily understood by those not familiar with industry terminology
  • Ability to complete multi-dimensional, multi-step assignments
  • Professional demeanor demonstrating objectivity, integrity and ethical behavior
  • Courteous and tactful, exercises sound judgement, with a high level of diplomacy
  • Time management skills and the ability to work independently, organize and meet multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with limited supervision
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members; collaborative team member
  • Demonstrated strategic, critical thinking, strategic insight, and analytical skills
  • Flexible, creative, and sound problem-solving and solution-oriented skills
  • Familiarity with the risks and opportunities of the retirement plan industry; including the legal and regulatory environment
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain professional certification
  • 3-5 years' experience in third-party administration of retirement plans or defined contribution plans desired
  • Intermediate knowledge of retirement plan design options, and application of current Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) regulations preferred

Hours, Salary and Benefits:

This individual will work in a business casual environment with standard hours of Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm. Pay is $50,000 - $55,000 DOE.
