Generation Development is an urban residential development company specializing in new construction. Our contracting division Generation Constructors is seeking a Superintendent to join our growing team.

About the Opportunity

It is an exciting time at Generation Development as we have launched our own general contracting business, Generation Constructors to support our residential and commercial development projects. The Superintendent position offers the opportunity to help build a business from the ground up, but with all the benefits of an established company including strong financial backing and a pipeline of business. We are looking for an experienced Superintendent who is well versed in all aspects of multi-unit residential construction, is not afraid to get his/her hands dirty and can hit the ground running. This person will be a natural problem solver who is comfortable using innovative methods to deliver a high- quality product. We are seeking someone who loves a challenge!

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time
  • Own and lead the job site for safety, quality, organization, and conduct
  • Accountable to project schedule and ensure a well-planned and efficient project
  • Effectively communicate with the project team and support all subcontractors so they can execute their job duties effectively and efficiently
  • Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location
  • Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site
  • Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperate with team members in various roles as necessary
  • Lead by example in all aspects, driving a culture of safety, teamwork and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 5 years leading and overseeing multi-family residential construction projects of at least $8M in value
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong set of personal values that align with the company
  • Have a positive attitude and be able to effectively coach team members and subcontractors through tough or stressful situations
  • Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to find solutions for deficiencies or problems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven ground
  • Capacity to physically lift up to 50lbs
