Research Scientist- Downstream Processing

Our client provides over 5000 different products for the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Research communities. Our products are used in the discovery and cure of diseases and to relieve suffering from these conditions. We are rapidly growing and have Research Scientists positions in our R&D laboratory for downstream process development for gene delivery systems with particular emphasis on chromatographic method development and implementation.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Perform discovery research for downstream applications in support of gene delivery systems
  • Optimize viral purification utilizing FPLC techniques, including innovative method development to facilitate novel technological platforms
  • Implement process development and scale-up for downstream purification, including filtration (TFF), chromatography, and fill/finish
  • Develop viral analytical methods to improve drug efficacy
  • Perform collaborative interactions with external academic & industry collaborators
  • Prepare scientific abstracts, manuscripts, or presentations for the dissemination of scientific results

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Virology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline (postdoctoral and industry experience preferred)
  • Highly competent on HPLC/FPLC systems with background in method development and implementation
  • Proficiency in formulation chemistry, method development for drug delivery platforms, and the engineering and generation of novel therapeutic delivery systems
  • A track record of successful research accomplishments
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical and critical thinking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A collaborative attitude that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment
