Manager of Technical Accounting

A growing organization is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join its expanding accounting and financial reporting team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong public accounting background who enjoy evaluating and documenting complex transactions and driving the implementation of new accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and document the US GAAP and SEC reporting impacts of new and complex transactions, preparing clear technical accounting memorandums and white papers.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize and implement new agreements and transactions.

  • Review lease contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC 842.

  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors on technical accounting conclusions and policy updates.

  • Lead the adoption of new accounting standards and policies, including assessment of impacts, development of supporting workpapers, and implementation of new processes.

  • Draft, review, and update accounting policies; develop and deliver training materials for internal stakeholders and international reporting teams.

  • Oversee accounting for business combinations, divestitures, and impairments, coordinating with valuation specialists and ensuring thorough documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; CPA required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably including tenure with a Big 4 or other public accounting firm or equivalent technical accounting experience within a public company environment.

  • Strong technical accounting expertise and a proven ability to assess and document the accounting implications of complex transactions.

  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, including lease accounting, revenue recognition, debt and fixed asset accounting, and accounting for business combinations, divestitures, and impairments.

  • Demonstrated ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well-organized memorandums and presentations.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proactive, action-oriented approach with the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Confident working independently while also collaborating effectively across teams.

  • Proficient with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.




Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000
