Director of Technical Accounting

New York, NY | Full-Time, Onsite (5 days/week) | $180K–$210K Base Salary

About the Role:
A leading global company is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to join its growing Accounting & Financial Reporting team. This role will be a key advisor on complex transactions, US GAAP, and SEC reporting matters, while driving the implementation of new accounting standards and developing accounting policies across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead research and documentation for complex accounting issues (leases, debt, derivatives, M&A, impairments, etc.)

• Partner cross-functionally to assess accounting and reporting implications of new agreements and initiatives

• Act as primary contact for external auditors on technical accounting matters

• Draft, maintain, and implement new accounting policies and internal training materials

• Oversee accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, and impairment analyses

• Support capital raises and other significant transactions

What You Bring:

• BS or Master’s in Accounting; CPA

• 8–10+ years of experience (Big 4 and/or public company background preferred)

• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting research

• Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office and ideally Workiva

• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary: $180,000–$210,000
