REMOTE Tax Manager opportunity!
A midsized CPA firm based in the California Bay Area is seeking a Tax Manager on a direct hire REMOTE basis. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of clients. As a key member of the firm, the Tax Manager will manage tax act as the reviewer, ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, and provide strategic guidance on tax planning and optimization. A CPA OR EA certification is required for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation by tax accountants and review of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Review and manage tax filings for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all tax-related matters.
- Proactively address client inquiries, providing timely, effective solutions to tax issues.
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance on complex tax matters and ensuring their professional development.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to clients.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support client strategies and business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active CPA license.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Must reside within a 200-mile radius of the Bay Area to attend meetings in person as needed (infrequent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Company will consider a senior tax accountant or supervisor with a CPA looking to make the transition to the tax manager level.
- Experience working with corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tax software
Compensation: 125000-175000
