Our client is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant who combines strong technical accounting skills with a drive to innovate and improve processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited to play a key part in our accounting transformation journey. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, you’ll help modernize our client’s systems and workflows while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
What You'll Do:
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives—identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and help implement automation and modern accounting practices.
- Support enhancements to accounting systems and processes in line with our digital finance transformation roadmap.
- Manage key accounting areas such as cash reconciliation, payroll, leases, prepaids, and accruals.
- Oversee intercompany accounting and ensure balance integrity across multiple entities.
- Play an active role in ERP transformation projects (particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Collaborate with Finance, Tax, and Treasury to improve accounting operations and support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal control requirements, while embracing innovative approaches.
- Maintain clear documentation and accounting memos to reflect evolving processes and decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Information Systems, or related field; CPA or CMA eligibility preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a transforming or fast-growing organization.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and strong internal controls; background in investment accounting or financial services is a plus.
- Proven experience leading or contributing to ERP upgrades, workflow redesigns, or accounting automation.
- Proficiency with large ERP systems—Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and an enthusiasm for leveraging technology to streamline processes.
- Strong communicator and collaborator, with a track record of driving change and building partnerships across functions.
- Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
Compensation: $120,000 - 140,000 base
