We’re seeking a skilled Assistant Controller to join our growing corporate accounting team. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a robust team of 14+ accounting, finance and project accounting professionals in their day to day duties, providing mentorship and professional development
• Oversee and manage project accounting processes, including WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, job costing, and project financials
• Work closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to provide insightful financial analysis and ensure accurate reporting
• Supervise the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including detailed project financial reconciliations
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project cost allocation and timely financial reporting
• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking for multiple projects
• Review and manage all project-related billings, change orders, and contract compliance
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting team members
• Assist in strategic financial planning and analysis for the company’s growth

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on the construction industry
• 2+ years in managing teams of 5+ accounting and finance professionals
• Previous experience managing or overseeing project accounting and WIP reporting
• Solid understanding of construction financials, including cost allocation, job costing, and contract compliance
• Experience working closely with executive leadership, including CFOs, to provide financial insights and analysis
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting software, and Excel (construction-specific software experience a plus)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or similar certification is a plus

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000
