Senior Controller, Property Accounting

Our client, a dynamic real estate firm specialized in industrial assets, is looking for a Senior Controller to lead their Accounting operations team. The company combines data-driven strategy with hands-on market expertise to create long-term value and support the growing needs of modern supply and distribution networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting system configuration and entity setup.
  • Lead a team comprising an accounting supervisor and several senior-level accountants.
  • Direct the month-end close cycle, ensuring accurate reconciliations, account reviews, and accrual entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial summaries and other internal or external reports as needed.
  • Support accounting for major property transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing activities.
  • Contribute to financial due diligence and other special projects as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing annual operating budgets, reconciliations, and periodic forecasts.
  • Collaborate with fund accounting to resolve consolidation or reporting alignment matters.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant property accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Adept at Excel formulas including, but not limited to, V-lookups, Pivot tables and sum-ifs.
  • Advanced Yardi knowledge required.
  • 2-3+ years of managing direct reports (experience managing a team of at least 8 is necessary)
  • Highly proficient with technology and able to deliver precise, well-formatted, and professional work.
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or attention to detail.
  • Capable of working autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong working relationships.



Compensation: $200,000-$225,000
