About the Role

As the Director of Technical Accounting, you will play a critical role in overseeing the technical accounting function, driving strategic financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting standards. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally on major business initiatives and serve as the key liaison for external auditors and internal stakeholders on complex accounting matters.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment, research, and documentation of US GAAP and SEC reporting impacts related to complex transactions.
  • Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors on technical accounting matters and policy updates.
  • Drive adoption of new accounting standards and company policies, including developing supporting documentation and workflows.
  • Draft, review, and maintain technical accounting policies and training materials.
  • Manage accounting for business combinations, divestitures, impairments, and other significant transactions.
  • Provide accounting support for capital raises and other strategic financial events.

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA required
  • 8–10+ years of experience, ideally a combination of Big 4 public accounting and industry technical accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting in a public company environment.
  • Expertise in revenue recognition, lease accounting, debt, fixed assets, and M&A accounting.
  • Proven ability to analyze and document complex transactions in technical memorandums.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint); Workiva experience a plus.



Compensation: $180,000 - 210,000 base
