Position Overview:

The Land Surveyor / Party Chief will lead a two-person field survey crew to conduct land surveys (boundaries, topography, site surveys, roof heights, etc.) and perform boundary and construction staking. Additionally, party chiefs prepare maps using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, including corner records and records of surveys, overseeing survey projects from initial fieldwork through drafting and quality checks. In this role, you will spend approximately 2–3 days per week in the field, and the remainder of the week in the office processing data and drafting survey maps and reports. You will supervise field crew members, ensure data accuracy and quality control, and interact with clients on-site in a professional manner. • Project Management: Prepare for fieldwork and arrive on job sites in a timely fashion according to scheduled start times. Maintain drafting schedule to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Data Management: Conduct field-to-office data transfer and management, including downloading/uploading survey data and site photographs, keeping organized records of field notes and data files.
  • Client Interaction: Represent M&M & Co. professionally in all client interactions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with relevant California surveying laws and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the company’s licensed surveyors and support staff. Provide guidance and training to junior field staff or survey technicians as needed and collaborate on resolving technical challenges.

Qualifications:
