Sales Associate – Thousand Oaks, CA

Custom Comfort Mattress was founded 30 years ago and continues to operate as a small family-owned business today. The company’s manufacturing facility is located in Orange County, CA with 8 retail showrooms across Southern California.
The ideal Sales Associate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Assist customers with questions through inbound phone calls and emails about the product, including industry product knowledge.
- Be able to explain benefits as well as features that resonate with the prospect that he/she is speaking with.
- Provide excellent customer service including resolving complaints and create resolutions.
- Fit the customer by properly asking questions to ensure best fit is suggested.
- Respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Accurate order entry for all orders.
- Complete every transaction accurately, including but not limited to, explaining the process and lead time to customers.
- Coordinate with internal operations department such as the Logistics Manager.
- Create strong, lasting, profitable, relationships with each customer.
- Demonstrate confidentiality and attention detail as the position requires handling customers’ confidential information such as their address.
- Meet individual sales target and help meet the team’s overall sales revenue metrics.
- Demonstrate professionalism towards clients, vendors and peers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a customer service or consultative sales environment.
- Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week with hours ranging from 8:00am-5:30pm, 5 days per week
- Availability for at least one weekend day per week highly preferred and quarterly holiday shifts.
- Basic computer skills required including knowledge of Google Suite; NetSuite or other order entry software experience preferred
- Punctual with excellent time management and prioritizing abilities.
- Able to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism from a variety of channels.
- Great strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, collaboration and teamwork skills.
Compensation:
- $18-$21/hour depending on experience
- Eligible for Monthly Sales Incentives after 90 days through pooled team bonuses and spiffs that can range between $500-$2,000 monthly per person
- Total annual compensation with hourly pay and pooled bonuses averages $45,000 to $70,000+
