Kinder’s is seeking a Project Manager: Project Portfolio Management who is passionate about being part of a team of hard-working people focused on bringing the future of flavor to consumers everywhere.

Today, we have over 100 products sold nationwide at retailers including Costco, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Kroger, Safeway and many more. While we have been around for over 75 years, we have experienced explosive growth in the last 5 years and are now a top 5 brand in the U.S. in multiple flavor categories including seasoning blends, BBQ sauce, and wing sauce. To keep our momentum rolling, we need more passionate flavor advocates and builders to come and join our team and help us reach every kitchen across the U.S. and maybe even the world.

How you'll have an impact at Kinder’s: The Project Manager, Project Portfolio Management will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the company’s commercialization and product renovation projects. These projects can be initiated by Operations, Product Development, or Marketing, and typically involve the renovation or maintenance of existing SKUs in the market. This may include the creation or revision of packaging, form factors, product formulas, labels, as well as changes in the co-packer network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Management - Plan, manage, and implement strategic new projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Planning, Quality Assurance, Commercialization, R&D, Sourcing, and Co-Manufacturing.
  • Gather information regarding timing, cost and resource implications of the project.
  • Kickoff projects with key stakeholders, with regular review of project timelines and progress.
  • Create detailed work plans to ensure successful completion of the projects.
  • Assess and refine processes as needed.
  • Using project management tools, you will document the day-to-day progress of tasks and deliverables.
  • Completion of artwork briefs for submission and collaboration with the Creative Project Manager.
  • Manage projects involving displays or other supplementary packaging.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership - Coordinate with functional teams to meet aggressive in-market timing.
  • Development and presentation of activities and strategies to various teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be the go-to resource for partners across the company to understand the status of key projects and get key information from innovation team required to achieve their objectives.
  • Be a collaborative, creative problem solver and find ways to deliver exceptional outcomes

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in consumer-packaged goods supply chain or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge or Experience with process improvement methodologies (such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, including demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals and engage in creative problem solving, especially in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Empathy, self-awareness, and respect.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, lean, and agile environment with proven record of completing projects on time in full through excellent cross functional team management, leadership, communication, and influence.

Location & Travel:

The position will be based out of our 20,000 sq. foot office in Walnut Creek, CA. We strongly believe in the power of culture and community and have a hybrid work structure with 4 days in the office on a weekly basis to encourage collaboration and personal connections that will allow us to better serve our customers and consumer and to have more fun. Fridays are flex days with employees having the opportunity to choose to be either in the office or to work from home based on what makes most sense for them. Some travel will be required for this role on a periodic basis.
