Our client, The University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a Adivsor Assistant role with the Upward Bound Program.

The University of San Francisco Upward Bound (USFUB) TRIO Program is currently seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and student-focused candidate to work closely with a College Advisor onsite at either the Oakland or Hayward High Schools on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with a College Advisor at an Oakland or Hayward high school site
  • Maintain consistent communication with Upward Bound staff regarding student needs, concerns, and progress
  • Provide college and career advising to high school students
  • Conduct transcript reviews and evaluations.
  • Support students with exam registration (e.g., SAT, ACT, AP)
  • Monitor academic performance by tracking report cards and progress reports
  • Uphold program rules and campus policies
  • Respond appropriately in emergency or crisis situations

Qualifications:

  • Completion of at least one year of college (sophomore standing or higher)
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with students rom underserved backgrounds or prior advising experience
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills; ability to engage and motivate students
  • Preference given to candidates with prior experience supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Willing to work fully onsite at designated school sites in Oakland or Hayward

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
