Our client, The University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a temporary Journey Level Gardener position.

The University of San Francisco is currently seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and experienced gardener to assist with the ongoing creation of a safe, engaging, environmentally responsible, and beautiful outdoor campus. This position will be on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain lawns, shrubs, trees, bedding plants, hardscape surfaces, and playing fields through mowing, pruning, weeding, and liter abatement
• Implement new landscape designs for new spaces
• Renew planted and hardscape landscapes as directed, including site preparation, planting, transplanting, soil amending, and mulching
• Ensure the safe application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides
• Operate and maintain manual and power equipment such as mowers, tractors, clippers, edgers, and blowers
• Monitor outdoor campus for safety, reporting any potential hazards

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's license
• Minimum of two years of gardening and landscape experience
• Knowledge of common trees, plants, turf maintenance, and pest control methods.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds
• Willing to work weekends and overtime if needed
• Bonus if knowledgeable of irrigation systems

Pay Rate: $35.70 per hour
