Our client, The University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a temporary Upward Bound Summer Resident Advisor/ Teacher Assistant position.

The University of San Francisco Upward Bound (USFUB) TRIO Program is currently seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable and student-focused Resident Advisor/Teacher Assistant to assist with the Upward Bound summer courses and the two-week dorm stay. This role will be from June 9th through July 18th, 2025. The Teacher Assistant position will take place on-site at Holy Names University campus between June 16th to July 4th. The dorm stay for the Resident Advisor portion will take place on-site at the University of San Francisco Campus from July 6th to July 18th.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide student supervision

  • Enter weekly grades and attendance

  • Support students with work completion

  • Prep materials for instructors

  • Supervise students of field trips

  • Participate in USFUB weekly staff meetings

  • Attend instructor orientation/planning sessions and program activities

The primary responsibilities during two-week dorm stay include:

  • Must stay in the dorms overnight

  • Provide supervision of all residential students

  • Assist in the set-up and clean-up of the UB residence hall common areas or other rooms used by the program

  • Assist in gathering supplies for program activities

  • Supervising free time activities for students

  • Providing academic assistance during study hall

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Program Directors

  • Ability to understand and enforce all USFUB Program policies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years post secondary education completed

  • Skills and knowledge to effectively work with students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds

  • Ability to understand and enforce all USFUB Program policies

  • Requires passing fingerprinting and a background check

  • Requires certificate of completion of Mandated Reporting Training and USF trainings related to working with minors

Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour - Dorm accommodations will be provided by the University
