Bardes Plastics located in Milwaukee WI is looking for a Tooling Setup Coordinator. This is a full-time, first-shift position and a direct hire from Bardes. We are specifically looking for an employee who is a self-starter who can work on their own, and someone with a knack for all things mechanical. A background with assembly and disassembly of production tooling is very much valued.

Be part of the team that designs and analyzes new products, manufacturing capabilities, tooling needs, and troubleshoots quality control challenges.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ability to work on their own with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform mold polishing and recognizing acceptable surface finishes.
  • Mechanical ability to setup, adjust, and operate manual thermoforming machines, manual trim press, and hand trim sample parts using scissors.
  • Ability to perform drilling of micro diameter vacuum holes in prototype and new tooling.
  • Mechanical ability to assemble and disassemble production tooling.
  • Able to safely operate a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools including drill press, bandsaw, manual milling machine, and other machinery required to perform work tasks.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude for identifying hardware sizes including bolt sizes and thread sizes.
  • Ability to use and interpret tape measures.
  • · Ability to communicate effectively with the tooling manager, workers, supervisors, and with other employees of the Company.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ensure Production has the tooling required when needed.
  • Polish aluminum mold tooling to industry standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • One year’s experience working in a manufacturing background.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Someone who is accountable.
  • Someone who is a self-starter, with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Someone with a strong work ethic and is organized.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
