Wester Container is a premium manufacturer of paper tubes and paper cores and is looking to fill the integral position of 2nd Shift Production Supervisor.

What You’ll Do:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for helping to create a safe working environment through maintaining the equipment and facilities. This position focuses on streamlining processes and ensures standards are being met. You will work closely with and assist the 1st shift production supervisor to ensure that production goals are met.

This position is definitely a hands-on position, and you will be required to learn the machines and be able to operate them.

Essential duties include:

  • Enforce Safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist and act as backup to the Material Handler and Machine Operators.
  • Establish a new hire training program and perform the complete training for new and current employees.
  • Assist in maintaining company standards, budgets, production goals and rates, based on company policies, equipment, and labor availability.
  • Set up and adjust machines and equipment.
  • Work with 1st shift Production Manager to initiate process improvements.
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production and cost records and prepare management reports of production results.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Three (3) years’ experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, engineering tech, process operations, general manufacturing, (or related field).
  • Strong leadership and supervisory background with a “lead by example” approach.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn how to operate the equipment.
