Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Essential Functions:

  •  Helps define the company’s overall strategic direction, growth strategy, and product vision, and ensure that tactical plans, projects, and strategies emanating from the Strategic Plan are integrated and aligned.
  • Oversee a broad range of technologies, including the assessment, demonstration, development of technology as well as the evaluation of technologies for automation and customer end-use.
  • Responsible for enterprise architecture, developing and maintaining the architectural blueprint, and ensuring architecture is aligned with the company’s operating model, strategic goals, and objectives.
  • In-depth knowledge of service center architecture and how to implement recent advances that maximize scalability and capacity.
  • Develop platform architecture that all future performance management and automation products would use which led to a more efficient use of development resources and a consistent architecture for our products.
  • Establishes a platform and product roadmap that supports the business strategy.
  • Oversee the on-time and effective development of internal and client-facing technology platforms.
  • Responsible for the entire application lifecycle, consistently delivering high-quality software on time while employing a wide variety of development methodologies.
  • Ensures that the development team delivers consistent, repeatable, and cost-effective infrastructure, project management, and development services to both internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate the software development processes in place and make recommendations to improve communication and software delivery predictability.
  • Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance and streamline internal operations.
  • Embraces accountability for Safeguard’s technical assets, delivery processes, team, and individual capabilities.
  • Drives investment recommendations relating to disruptive technology, and competitive risks.
  • Collaborates with product development, and ensures products and platforms deliver a high-quality experience for customers.
  • Consults with other department heads, such as finance, marketing, and operations as an advisor of technologies that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Builds strong relationships within and across departments, and with partners and recruitment locations.
  • Drives adoption of development processes and methodologies aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Ensures all technology systems and processes adhere to or exceed all applicable data security and compliance standards.
  • Nurtures and support team energy and morale, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and achievement.
  • Leads and directs the planning, allocation, training, coaching, and evaluation of technology staff.
  • Communicates corporate technology strategy to investors, bankers, employees and stakeholders as needed.
  • Serves as an external technical face of the company, engages with stakeholders in the community, and develops relationships with key technology partners.
  • Assesses technology of potential partners or acquisitions.

 Qualifications:

  •  10-12 years progressively responsible work experience with at least 5 years in a managerial and strategic role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required; MBA is preferred.
  • Experience formulating and implementing a technology roadmap and maintaining technical oversight.
  • Extensive understanding and proven success in the development of scalable enterprise application architecture.
  • Foundational knowledge of IT systems and Enterprise Architecture supporting business.
  • Extensive experience in the areas of systems management, data center automation, business process management, and integration-related technologies.
  • Proven record of building teams and delivering enterprise-class architecture and solutions.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
