As part of our collaboration, Impel Talent is supporting the expansion of the client’s Supplier Development team, seeking experienced professionals to drive strategic supplier improvements and manage complex relationships. These roles are critical to enhancing overall manufacturing capacity and mitigating risks within their sophisticated supply chain.
You will be joining a pivotal team where your expertise will be key in understanding manufacturing processes, assessing capacities, and implementing robust recovery plans for underperforming suppliers. This involves hands-on engagement at supplier sites, acting as a crucial link between the supplier and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess supplier manufacturing processes, capacity, and schedules to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement pre-contract supplier development plans to enhance capacity and performance.
- Lead recovery efforts for underperforming suppliers, conducting thorough analyses and monitoring progress against established plans.
- Serve as the primary on-site representative, effectively observing, extracting key information, and communicating critical issues to internal teams.
- Facilitate clear and concise communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders, articulating needs and driving decisive actions.
- Apply advanced risk management and quality methodologies (e.g., capacity charts, surge, line of balance, 8D, 6 Sigma, Ishikawa, 5Y) to optimize supplier performance.
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar supplier development, quality engineering, or program management role.
- Mandatory background in the space industry or highly rigorous, high-reliability manufacturing environments (e.g., aerospace, electronics).
- Demonstrated ability to manage difficult suppliers, implement recovery plans, and assertively drive necessary changes.
- Strong character, excellent communication skills (both concise verbal and written), and the ability to make confident decisions while actively listening.
- Proficiency in risk management tools and methodologies, including capacity analysis, production monitoring, and non-conformance resolution.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (approximately three days per week) to supplier sites, requiring proximity to a major airport.
