We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Data Governance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of our data assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data governance policies, monitor data quality, and support compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Framework Implementation:
- Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Assist in creating and maintaining data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and standards.
Data Quality Management:
- Conduct regular data quality assessments and implement solutions to address data integrity issues.
- Monitor and track data quality metrics, ensuring adherence to established thresholds.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with business units, data stewards, and IT teams to ensure alignment with data governance objectives.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between data owners and data users.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure data governance policies comply with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
- Support audits and risk assessments related to data governance and data protection.
Metadata and Data Lineage Management:
- Maintain and enhance metadata management practices to ensure data traceability and discoverability.
- Document data lineage to provide clarity on data flows and dependencies.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness of data governance policies and practices.
- Serve as a resource for educating teams on data governance tools and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and metadata management solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing data governance challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
- Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, finance, or government.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and their data governance capabilities (e.g., AWS, Azure)
