We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Data Governance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of our data assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data governance policies, monitor data quality, and support compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Governance Framework Implementation:

    • Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and standards.
  2. Data Quality Management:

    • Conduct regular data quality assessments and implement solutions to address data integrity issues.
    • Monitor and track data quality metrics, ensuring adherence to established thresholds.
  3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Work with business units, data stewards, and IT teams to ensure alignment with data governance objectives.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between data owners and data users.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure data governance policies comply with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.
    • Support audits and risk assessments related to data governance and data protection.
  5. Metadata and Data Lineage Management:

    • Maintain and enhance metadata management practices to ensure data traceability and discoverability.
    • Document data lineage to provide clarity on data flows and dependencies.
  6. Training and Awareness:

    • Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness of data governance policies and practices.
    • Serve as a resource for educating teams on data governance tools and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 2-4 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and metadata management solutions.
    • Proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data.
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  3. Knowledge and Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
    • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing data governance challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, finance, or government.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and their data governance capabilities (e.g., AWS, Azure)
