We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Steward to play a critical role in managing and ensuring the quality, consistency, and governance of our organization’s data assets. As a Data Steward, you will act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of data, enabling informed decision-making, and supporting data-driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Quality Management:

    • Monitor and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across systems.
    • Identify and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies through collaboration with relevant teams.
  2. Data Governance:

    • Implement and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
    • Collaborate with Data Governance teams to maintain data definitions, metadata, and data lineage documentation.
  3. Data Policy Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational data policies (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to data management standards.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Partner with business units, data owners, and IT teams to define and document data requirements.
    • Serve as the point of contact for data-related inquiries and issue resolution.
  5. Data Lifecycle Management:

    • Oversee the lifecycle of critical data assets, including acquisition, usage, and retirement.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of data ownership and stewardship roles.
  6. Training and Awareness:

    • Educate and train staff on data governance principles, data quality standards, and proper data usage.
    • Promote a culture of accountability and stewardship across the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 5-7 years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, or a related role.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation) and relational databases (e.g., SQL).
    • Familiarity with metadata management and data cataloging.
    • Understanding of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  3. Knowledge and Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices.
    • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
  • Experience with data quality and profiling tools.
  • Knowledge of data security and privacy practices.
