About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Operational Technology (OT) Zero Trust (ZT) Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates with a working knowledge of Zero Trust principles and a solid understanding of Operational Technology, Control Systems, and Internet of Things (IoT). While deep technical expertise is not required, the ideal candidate should have a strong technical aptitude, an understanding of program and project management, and the ability to bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. A military background is highly advantageous and will be considered a significant asset.
1. Policy Development for Zero Trust Architecture & Implementation
- Lead the creation and refinement of organizational policies to support the design and implementation of Zero Trust (ZT) security models, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and formalize policies that integrate Zero Trust principles into various systems, including operational technology (OT) environments.
- Provide policy-driven recommendations for enhancing cybersecurity measures and reducing attack surfaces in OT and IoT systems.
2. Policy Frameworks for Operational Technology and Control Systems
- Develop and maintain comprehensive policies for evaluating and improving OT and Control System (CS) security practices.
- Monitor trends in IoT, OT, and cybersecurity, and translate findings into actionable policies and strategic guidance.
- Create and enforce risk management policies to address vulnerabilities in control systems and guide teams in implementing effective mitigations.
3. Program & Project Management with a Policy Focus
- Coordinate and oversee cybersecurity and operational technology projects with an emphasis on developing and implementing robust policy frameworks.
- Develop project plans that incorporate policy development milestones, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, leadership, and policy stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project and policy outcomes.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with stakeholders, including technical teams, leadership, and external partners, to ensure alignment on Zero Trust and OT initiatives.
- Conduct briefings, produce documentation, and deliver presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide training and support to enhance the organization's understanding of Zero Trust and OT security practices.
By embedding policy development into every aspect of Zero Trust, Operational Technology, and project management efforts, this role ensures a structured, consistent, and strategic approach to security and operational success.
Qualifications - Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, operational technology, or related fields.
- Military experience is strongly preferred.
