Qualifiers:
Active Secret Clearance
Spanish proficiency (Native or Professional level)
Military Rank: O5 -or- Civilian Grade: GS-14 / GG-14 / FS-02 / NH-04
Experience developing cybersecurity strategy and policies
Experience advising foreign governments in cybersecurity
Experience with bilateral / multilateral cybersecurity capacity building
Ability to work 100% in-country in South America (countries such as: Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Argentina)

We are currently seeking an experienced cyber defense professional to provide expert advisory services to the SOUTH AMERICAN Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Joint Staff in support of Global Defense Reform Program (GDRP) initiatives. GDRP is a US State Department-funded program that, in close coordination with US Department of Defense, focuses on assisting Partner Nations with defense reform and civil-military institutional capacity building efforts. The embedded Senior Advisor will work on cyber defense and will coordinate with all necessary partners to improve their cyber security capabilities. The Advisor will serve in a full time, twelve-month long commitment abroad in SOUTH AMERICA.
The Senior Advisor will be embedded with the Partner Nation MoD. The Senior Advisor will work with the MoD, Cybersecurity Unit, and other government entities to assist in building the capacity of the Cybersecurity Unit, improve cyber security within the MoD, and develop joint cyber defense coordination within the service branches and interagency. Provide expert guidance and training as well as advice and technical assistance needed to develop and implement cyber reforms and policies at the Joint Staff. Advise the Ministry of Defense and support effective interagency coordination on cybersecurity within the Government of SOUTH AMERICA, as required.
Compensation Structure:
$150K - $170K Base Salary

While in country, Defense Base Act insurance provided and covered under International SOS Insurance
In the event of an emergency, will have special flight to return to US for western care at no cost
Basic Qualifications:
-Current valid passport with at least 1 year left on it
-Active Secret clearance
-Spanish language proficiency at the Native or Professional level
-Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Cyber Defense, Global Technology and Development, Information Systems Security, or Digital Forensics; plus 6 years' experience working in cybersecurity.
OR
-Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Cyber Defense, Global Technology and Development, Information Systems Security, or Digital Forensics; plus 10 years of prior professional experience working in cybersecurity
-Have reached, at a minimum, the rank of O-5 in the military or equivalent in a civilian capacity (i.e., FS-02/GS-14/GG-14/NH-04, etc.)
-4+ years of experience developing strategic-level cybersecurity and cyber defense strategy, policy, or procedures
-2+ years of experience communicating cybersecurity policy and technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders
-2+ years of experience working with senior officials in a foreign government and/or foreign military. (Non-resident or intermittent advisory experience may count toward some or all the required two years of prior experience if the advising took place in-person with the foreign government representative(s))
-Prior demonstrated professional experience developing programmatic approaches to complex problem sets
