Job Title: CommVault Systems Engineer
Qualifications
Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required.
Location: This is a remote position and open to candidates nationwide. However, preference will be given to those based in Mississippi or Oregon, with the ideal candidate located within 250 miles of Vicksburg, MS, due to potential on-site support needs. The role includes travel between Mississippi and Oregon in support of the Army Corps of Engineers.
Travel: Significant travel will be required during the initial phase of the project.
Period of Performance: The initial engagement will last 22 weeks, with the expectation to transition into a full-time Operations & Maintenance (O&M) role after implementation. Hours for the O&M phase are still being finalized.
Certification: Must possess a valid IAT Level II or III certification.
Start Date: Urgent need. Target start is Monday or sometime next week.
Additional Details: While this is primarily a remote position, the selected candidate must be flexible and available for global travel as needed. Standard working hours will align with EST/EDT, with availability required during outages or critical events
Job Summary:
We are looking for both Senior and Junior CommVault Systems Engineers to support a large-scale federal government enterprise environment. This role includes the design, development, configuration, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and ongoing support of backup and recovery solutions. Candidates must have strong expertise in CommVault data protection technologies and a passion for driving innovation through advanced technology and collaboration.
Job Responsibilities:
Junior and Senior Level
Design, develop, configure, integrate, and secure complex backup, recovery, and storage products over the WAN.
Create and maintain optimal backup, restore, and redundancy solutions for critical data.
Review, plan, and participate in executing regularly scheduled maintenance on the backup/recovery infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery problems, including networking, application, server, hardware, and appliance-related issues.
Provide analytics, usage, capacity planning, and reporting within the Commvault management and monitoring solution.
Implement regular security updates and patches to backup application servers and appliances according to federal requirements.
Work with operations teams to develop and support enterprise infrastructure processes, tools, and environments.
Senior Level
Act in a team-leader capacity
Interface with customers
Lead, monitor, and supervise employees to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization
Motivate and inspire by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages bonding of team members, and demonstrates flexibility
Set goals, assign tasks, and provide direction
Act as a liaison between the team and upper management to ensure timely task completion
Job Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of the Commvault data protection application
Experience with LAN, WAN, Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux, and SQL databases
Experience with DISA STIGs and applying them to Commvault-related systems
Experience designing and implementing multi-site backup solutions
Ability to perform security-related tasks, including documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing
IAT II or IAT III certification
7-10 years of related experience for the Senior level
5-7 years of related experience for the Junior level
Ability to travel to various sites, worldwide, as required
US Government issued clearance at the Secret level or higher
US Citizenship.
Ability to sit for extended periods.
Ability to regularly lift at least 25 pounds.
Job Desired Qualifications:
CommVault Certified Engineer
Working knowledge of SAN and Cloud storage systems such as EMC Unity and PURE Storage.
