Team (Project) Introduction
The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration.

The APEX Developer aligns to the Engineer 2 professional level within MLS’s career families. The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of the software development life cycle and the ability to handle tasks independently most of the time. They must perform various engineering-related assignments across different projects within the organization. The candidate must possess broad knowledge of engineering procedures and contribute to solving complex problems. With a solid technical background, a talent for quickly learning new technologies, and a combination of problem-solving skills and innovative thinking, the candidate must effectively address a wide range of technical production challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Provide daily operational support and maintenance,
• Experience with upgrading from Oracle Apex 4.0 to 23.x and converting affected applications.
• Experience with secure network programming in an Oracle environment; use of security certificates, HTTPS callouts, etc.
• Experience with full lifecycle development of custom Oracle Applications, including the Oracle APEX toolset
• Experience with the use of Oracle Integrated Development Environments such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer.
• Experience with JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
• Experience with PL/SQL, Java, Windows PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting with familiarity with built-in PLSQL packages and procedures.
• Experience with storage, efficient retrieval, and manipulation of unstructured data (BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, XMLType) in an Oracle environment.
• Experience establishing goals and meeting project plan objectives.
• Must be able to write and maintain system documentation on work products.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills,
• Federal Customer interface experience
• Agile development experience.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or other Engineering technical discipline (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for degree)
• 5 years of experience with Oracle APEX 4.0 and above.
• Experience with Oracle Database products version 11 and above.
• Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports version 10G or higher.
• Must be an U.S citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
