About the Role:
Our client, a leading player in the energy infrastructure industry, is seeking a Project Engineer II to oversee and execute projects across the full lifecycle—from design and procurement to construction and completion. This role also provides technical and troubleshooting support for operating assets and participates in safety and compliance activities across facilities.
This is a growth-focused role ideal for engineers with a strong background in natural gas operations and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute full project cycles for moderately complex engineering projects including design, development, material procurement, and construction.
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party contractors for seamless project execution.
- Develop and prepare technical construction specifications for projects.
- Conduct facility planning, including pipeline simulation modeling for new builds and expansions.
- Review project designs for compliance with codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
- Evaluate vendor bids and make material selections based on technical and budgetary considerations.
- Manage multiple project budgets, schedules, and technical challenges concurrently.
- Provide engineering and troubleshooting support for operational energy assets.
- Lead and manage small to mid-sized capital and maintenance projects.
- Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including PHAs, LOPAs, PSSRs, and MOCs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational excellence and project delivery.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for effective collaboration.
- Technical proficiency in engineering practices applicable to the energy sector.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of energy infrastructure design, construction, and operations.
- Familiarity with engineering codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Committed to safety, compliance, and environmental standards.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering project management experience.
- Previous experience in the natural gas industry is required.
- Proficiency in engineering analysis tools and specialty software.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications:
- None required, though additional credentials are a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Occasional travel to remote or operating sites required.
- Exposure to field hazards including flammable materials—strict adherence to safety protocols is essential.
- Physical stamina may be required for inspections and site activities.
