The Associate Production Manager actively participates as a member of a Global Production Team, which is responsible for the financial and responsive execution of the strategy & direction for a single or multiple departments. He/she works closely within a cross-functional team that includes; Product Development, Gap Inc. Sourcing (GIS), Merchandising, Tech Services, and IM and Allocation, responsible for strategies to support financial and responsive Production Management.
1. Product Strategy Management
•Review and Recommend costing opportunities related to country placement, i.e., e-sourcing, Duty Free sourcing, etc.
•Partner with Manager to execute fabric platforms and responsive supply chain styles
•Participate in crafting Seasonal Sourcing document, in partnership with Manager & Product Development team.
•Participate in monthly in-store quality assessment visits and partner with Assistant Product Development to write recaps.
2. Seasonal Management
a. Production Management
•Prepare final order placement recap to review with manager.
•Confirm program placement with sourcing channels.
•Support an action plan for post-placement open issues to drive to closure.
•Compile data for production hindsight package.
b. Financial Management
•Partner with manager and cross functional team to execute Placeholder, chase and fast track strategies.
•Partner with cross functional teams to maintain Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Rapid Response (RR) initiatives per department.
•Gather information on liabilities and present solutions to Manager.
3. People and Relationship Management
•Create teams and partnerships across functions.
•Manage Self-Development by:
1.Scheduling training and educational opportunities for (e.g., factory visits, system/IT training, forms and reports).
2.Develop relationship with mentors, peers, and all sourcing channels.
1) Knowledge & skills:
•Manufacturing, trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity, production cycle timeline, fabric and garment construction
•Computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access, web-based applications;
•Effectively communicate in written and verbal form
