Invents, builds, and operates Facebook’s online transaction processing (OLTP) infrastructure. We provide access and storage to Facebook’s online data, including the social graph. The infrastructure is among the largest of its kind in the world, processing billions of queries each second. We are piloting a new initiative to improve developer experience of these key systems, APIs and tools, by improving developer support, documentation and tooling. Acting as the voice of the the developer, this is your chance to improve the experience of engineers across Facebook we enable with our offerings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor internal support forums, triage and respond to questions and support requests from Facebook engineers using internally developed support processes and workflows
  • Communicate and escalate issues to the proper engineering teams or owners for resolution when necessary
  • Use log files and Facebook data tools to investigate problems and correlate them to release events, code rollouts or ongoing production issues
  • Apply debugging tools and techniques to clarify issues and add relevant information for owners
  • Effectively communicate resolutions and workarounds to customers, engineers and leadership
  • Write basic tools and test cases to improve the speed and quality of support
  • Organize and facilitate office hours
  • Track and follow up on customer requests and issues
  • Work with engineers, product management and engineering leadership to deliver customer feedback and highlight patterns that can help prioritize product features or bug fixes


  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  • Good technical understanding of the general development process of writing code, testing and releasing to production
  • Prior experience in engineering support, help desk support or other technical roles
  • Basic fluency in PHP, JavaScript, or Python and familiarity with basic development tools
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve, rapidly assess, analyze and resolve or troubleshoot issues and distill into clear and concise communications
  • Quick learner and adaptable to learn new products, processes, concepts, and skills
  • Ability to work in a complex ecosystem with many layers of systems, services and tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple assignments and/or responsibilities
  • Ability to follow technical documentation and run-books to independently research and resolve customer issues
  • Results-oriented, self-directed, and inquisitive with a reliable, proactive approach to entrusted tasks
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    Fluency in English and excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation and interpersonal skills.
