Job Title: Commercial Sourcing Manager - Network Hardware

Location: Menlo Park, CA

Duration: 2+ years W2 contract with possible extension/ conversion

Duties:

  • Manages a portfolio of suppliers globally, in the Optical Transport Equipment and IP space, inclusive of Sub C, Terrestrial and Metro transport gears

  • Identifies suppliers, negotiates commercial terms, and works with the legal to negotiate and execute suppliers contracts

  • Develops supply strategies, including joint build efforts with partner organizations with similar connectivity needs

  • Manages performance of the contracts, tracking and ensuring compliance of suppliers with the contract T&Cs

  • Renegotiates contract terms as needed

  • Conducts score card reviews with key suppliers for continuous performance improvements Keeps abreast of the telecom/backbone/Optical Industry market technological and commercial developments

  • Keeps track of price trends in the market to ensure best in class commercial terms for Facebook Works closely with cross-functional teams to develop network requirement and subsequent sourcing strategies

  • Works closely with demand planning, to develop budgets, forecasts and long-range risk mitigation plans

  • Works closely with accounting and accounts payable for accurate processing of supplier invoices and compliance with accounting guidelines

  • Participate in streamlining procurement processes through automation

  • Willing to travel

  • Work across multiple time zones

Skills:


  • BA/BS or equivalent in technical or business related field with 10+ years of experience

  • 7+ years of Sourcing Management or Carrier Relations experience on network related products and services

  • Business and technical knowledge of networking, particularly in transport technologies

  • Experience preparing and presenting quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis of industry trends and sourcing recommendations in Backbone Edge Technologies

  • Cross-functional leadership, organizational coordination and multi-tasking experience

  • Communication and interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within a cross-functional team and with external partners

Education: BA/BS or equivalent in technical or business related field with 10+ years of experience.
