The Senior Engineer - IT Security is responsible for analysis, presentation, acquisition, installation, configuration, implementation, and modification of IT infrastructure solutions for major business and IT projects and requests. This role provides escalated, Tier 3 support of production infrastructure for business and infrastructure services, performs performance trend analysis for planning of infrastructure capacity and improvements, applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. This role frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods and works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and exercises independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. The Senior Engineer leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives, provide mentoring and guidance to junior employees, acts as an expert providing direction and guidance for process improvements and establishing policies, and may be called upon to represent the organization for customers/clients of Franklin Templeton Technologies. Collaborates with other Engineers, Operations, Applications Development, Business customers and vendors to design and implement solutions
Develop and implement security policies and procedures (such as user log-on and authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, security auditing procedures and use of security tools and encryption routines) and prepare status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
Responsible for enforcing security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviewing security violation reports and investigating possible security exceptions, updates and maintaining and documenting security controls.
Involved in the full life cycle of security tools management and responsible for security tool configuration, maintenance, monitoring and other various information security measures, performing security assessments and reviews technology initiatives for security compliance.
As assigned, these roles evaluate and recommend security products for various platforms in the networking technology environment educate users about network security policies and provide consultation on security issues.
Develop, evaluate and manage systems security across the enterprise, with areas of concentration that include account security management, password auditing, network based and Web application based vulnerability scanning, virus management and intrusion detection.
Designs, prepares and conducts new system and technology evaluations to determine infrastructure solutions based on business requirements.
Measures and analyzes performance of the infrastructure against current and future needs.
Analyzes existing solutions, makes recommendations and leads improvement of infrastructure technology, operational capability, process, reliability and performance
Responsible for creating technical documentation for infrastructure solutions. Presents solutions to senior leaders for concurrence and approval.
Takes proactive steps to identify potential issues.
Responsible for or assist in the timely resolution of escalated incidents affecting business and/or infrastructure services.
Engages with vendors for incident and problem management for resolution and root cause determination.
Mentors or provides guidance to develop talent in more junior staff members
Ability to manage multiple activities in a fast paced environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with local and remote individuals or teams across multiple time zones.
Demonstrated ability to perform and present analysis and recommendations to senior technical staff and senior leaders for effective decision-making.
Education (or equivalent experience):
Master's Degree or equivalent experience (Preferred)
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Required)
Typically has 8-12 years related experience (Required)
Financial Services industry experience
Licenses and Certifications:
Recognized security industry certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
